Product Description

In the competition area of communication products, Moto and Verizon wireless have enough confidence all the time. Why? When we introduce their new products- the Motorola Droid X, you will understand.

The Droid X may be the newest member that followed Droid to join Verizon. The smart phones   have excellent 4.3-inch touch screens while offering some good media functions, such as 8- mega-pixel digital camera with High definition video capture, High-definition multimedia interface output, and DLNA support. Nevertheless, we should also realize that it doesn’t have some functions HTC EVO 4G has, like front-facing digital camera and 4G support.

But, we believe that Verizon wireless still has a strong competitor. It can provide more    multimedia functions than HTC Droid Incredible, if you want, you can do not using a physical keyboard. The Motorola Droid X is going to be launched in July 15; it will cost you $199.99 with a 24 months contract and a $100 postal mail-in refund. You can go to Best Buy to preorder the phone, and if current Verizon customers’ contracts ended by Dec 31, 2010, they can update their phones to Droid X free.

Style

Moto and Verizon wireless prefer to design products with big devices, such as Motorola Droid and the Motorola Droid X. it’s a little taller than HTC EVO 4G, and more lighter and thinner. Although it has 5 inches tall by 2.6 inches wide by 0.4 inch thick and 5.47 ounces, when you take it, you will fell amazed by its weight. There is also one problem: if you have small hands, it may be a little difficult for you to use one hand to operate it. Additionally, it creates a good press   inside a jean pocket, without slip-out keyboard like the Droid’s, it does not really feel very bulky.  There’s a minor bundle on back in which the digital camera is located, although we missed that it is an annoyance. Its rear also offers a pleasant gentle-touch shell, and gives you a solid feeling.

Now, we may feel embarrassed to use such a big call phone to make a call, but on the other side, it provides a bigger monitor for us. You can see words and images clearly because of its thin border around the edge that blends into the screen. It possesses a WVGA (854×480 pixels) resolution which has a 16:9 facet rate and definitely excellent and highly detailed appearance.  From the texts, videos to colors, all of these make the multimedia experience quite great.

The Droid X has two keyboards, the first is Swype. If you are not used to drag your finger from one key to another key, don’t impatient, it will become your first choice after two or three times trying. It can be astonishingly exact and rapid. But if you still don’t like it, don’t worry, the second keyboard is a standard virtual keyboard which is really good and feels more responsive.

Below the screen, you can see four standard Android shortcut keys—menu, home, back, and search. They are not touch buttons to avoid opening the functions occasionally. And in fact, not everyone likes touch-buttons; Motorola put a good notion into the phone’s design. On the right side, there are also some controls, such as a volume rocker and camera capture button. Someone thinks the latter is too close to the edge, which makes it difficult to press, but believe me, it is not a bad thing.

On the top of the product, you can find a power button, and on the left, it is Micro-USB and the HDMI port. The HDMI port is type D standard so you require a Micro-HDMI cable to connect it to HDTV. You can buy one on the internet; it only costs you about $8.

If you buy a Droid X, it is equipped with an AC adapter, a USB cable, a 16G microSD card, and reference material. Like Android, other components, such as an auto support (Bucks 39.99) and a multi-medium connect (Bucks 49.99), will likely be presented.
